Podo camera expecting to ship by August
Podo Labs’ micro-suction camera can be stuck on different surfaces and used to shoot photos or video.
The Podo camera is now on Kickstarter with a price of US$89, and the company say production and delivery will take place by August.
The small bluetooth enabled camera works in conjunction with an app loaded on your smartphone. You can compose the image through your mobile before snapping, or setting on time-delay.
Recognising people’s right to privacy, the company has purposely made the cameras conspicuous but fun in a choice of colours (so far red, blue and black).
The company say, “Forget the selfie stick. Podo is a wireless, re-stickable camera that turns any surface into a photo booth. Just stick, shoot, & share. “
Podo Labs specs for the camera are: 8 Megapixels, video of 720p at 30 frames per second, and a claimed battery life of up to 2 hours video usage.
It looks like a neat little unit and has attracted a lot of backers already on Kickstarter. With an original goal of $50,000, it has already passed $300,000 with 24 days still to run.
